You can run, hide but you can’t stop Time
One of the things I have come to realize is the importance of proper time management. The thing about internet marketing is… unlike all the promises made in the sales letter that tells you it can be done in your spare time and all, it is pretty much a big lie.
You need to put in a lot of your own time into it. That is… if you want quick success. Sure you can do it with only two hours per day and do it part time. But the thing is the results won’t come quick enough… if not at all.
If you want to boil a pot of water what would you do? Would you start the fire and turn it off after 15 seconds and then boil it again later for another 15 seconds and keep doing this hoping it would come to a boil? Or do you turn on the fire and leave the heat on until the water boils?
I think the best strategy for you is this. Earn some money doing your day job, save enough money to sustain your lifestyle for a year without a job, then quit your day job and pursue the internet dream so that you can have enough time to focus on your internet business.
This is exactly what I did actually… I had some savings… I quit my job (after the seminar) and the pressure was on and I was left with no other choice but to find a way to succeed in internet marketing. The result is nothing short of astounding.
Within a month I found a way to make money online and was able to generate enough monthly income to survive. And with that I was able to learn more about IM and started to test out all the other techniques.
The next thing you know I hit the jackpot. I found success in Affiliate Marketing and from there I grew. Month after month I would see an increase in my profits. And today I earn more in a month than I could ever earn in a whole year in my engineering job.
However, asking you to quit your day job just like that is a bit suicidal. That’s why I said you should save enough money for this. Otherwise you’d want to see if you can work for someone online or find a way to generate a monthly income so that you can spend more time on your internet business and make it happen.
If you have a huge saving already… this should be easy… All you need to do is spend time learning the curves of internet marketing and start actual marketing. Now you probably won’t see instant results… but it should teach you something in return but the key here is not to give up.
Learn from your mistakes and move on. That’s how I grew… that’s how everyone that has found a place in IM grew… that’s how you should grow too.
Now back to the importance of time. There’s productive time and there’s non-productive time in internet marketing. A lot of you might say… I spend a lot of time on Internet Marketing but I am still not seeing any results.
That’s because you are spending your time the wrong way. That’s because you are spending your time on non-productive activities.
In short, productive activities for Internet Marketing are activities that will help you generate money. Activities like Selling, Marketing, Negotiating JV’s, Advertising, etc are productive activities.
Non-productive activities are work that you need to do but does not directly help you generate money. With that said, building a website, creating the product, reading other people’s product is not productive.
Learning, dwelling in forums, researching, planning, procrastinating, are non- productive activities.
So what you need to keep in mind is this, although building a website is non productive, it’s still something you need to do. So do not spend too much time on it. Just get the site up and then start doing the productive stuff.
From there you can then tweak your site for better conversion which is also a productive activity. So how long will it take for your business to become successful? Setting up your shop should be an ASAP task. Growing your business is a long term thing.
Keep growing your business and you will see the money come in more and more as time passes.
It’s just like playing an RPG (role playing game) game where you need to set up your character quickly and get your quest from the townsfolk. The time you spend in the battlefield killing your enemies will gain you experiences that eventually lead to a level up.
There are a lot of similarities here if you would just stop and think about it.
